The Annual Houston Solar Tour
Come to the ASES Houston Solar Tour for a first-hand experience showing a variety of solar solutions. From large commercial installs and smaller residential installs to solar thermal hot water and pool heaters, everyone will have an opportunity to check out real solar solutions for real people. Meet the city’s solar installers and homeowner with solar systems, plus learn how and why solar energy systems are becoming more and more popular.

  • The Annual Houston Solar Tour  features commercial, institutional and residential sites that have incorporated solar energy in the Houston area.

  •  The self-guided, open-house tour spotlights about 20 residential and commercial buildings located throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area that have installed solar energy systems and other energy-efficient and sustainable technologies.

  • The Solar Social is free to the public and is the kick-off event for the Annual Houston Solar Tour. PV installers, energy companies, nonprofit groups and school groups will offer exhibits and information to the public about solar and other renewable energy solutions.  Information about the tour sites will be available.

  • The main purpose of the tour is to raise awareness of solar energy systems and provide an opportunity for the public to see working solar systems.  Organizers also seek to inspire individuals to make sustainable energy choices that help lower costs, support energy independence, protect against power outages and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Solar energy systems highlighted during the tour include active solar systems; PV, solar hot water and solar pool heaters.
